Let us pray. O God, whose glory fills the highest Heaven and bestows upon us all that
is good and true; give us grateful hearts for our many blessings and keep us ever mindful of the
needs of others. We remember, in particular, the people who are suffering from the Indian
Ocean disaster and we pray for peace in the Middle East and in the world.
Help us, as well, to be faithful stewards of this fair land and of its resources, preserving
it as a proper legacy for our children's children. We ask your guidance upon the deliberations
and the decisions of this body. Continue to confer upon our Speaker, Matthew Michels, the skill
to be prudent and judicious. Endue each Legislator with wisdom that promotes the well-being
of the people. For all our lives and all that we do, begins, continues, and ends in Thee. In Your
Holy Name We Pray. Amen.
